Vintage Italian Murano Glass Mirrors
Did you know that the mirror was invented on Murano Island in the Venice Lagoon? It was just one of the extraordinary beautiful objects that the Venetian artisans produced and they were used to open for trade with the whole world. Today, interior designers include mirrors in virtually every room in the home and at Murano Vintage you can find carefully selected vintage mirrors from Italy.
We are particularly excited about the fine faceted mirrors in jewel shades such as sapphire blue, emerald green, smoky quartz and burnt citrine tones. In the period from 1960 to the 1980s, a few recognized Italian mirror houses such as Antonio Lupi, Cristal-Luxor and Metalvetro Galvorame were housed in northern Italy, which today represent the best of the time.
Used vintage Italian mirrors in the interior
Mirrors are most often used in the bathroom or for dressing, but they can actually do much more for your home. They can be used as a decorative element that will at the same time make the room appear visually larger and convey light and air. The vintage Italian mirrors most often come in organic shapes and can even be found with faceting or with attached mouth-blown flowers.
Create depth in your living room with a mirror
If you need to open up your living room, you can include a Murano glass mirror, which will instantly create a feeling of a larger room. The vintage mirrors come in beautiful deep shades and you can use them to compliment your wall colour, wallpaper or different textiles. When the light is reflected in the mirror, it will give an elegant atmosphere and at the same time be an exciting element.
Incorporate a vintage mirror into your entryway
The entryway is the first room that welcomes you and your guests. It is often smaller than other areas in the home and a mirror can help make it appear larger. If it is a newly built house, a vintage Italian mirror in Murano glass will immediately bring soul and personality into your interior. If you have a console or chest of drawers standing in the entrance hall, a mirror will create coherence and in the dark months you can place live candles, which can be reflected in the mirror and create a cozy and homely atmosphere.
